Meanwhile, South Africa dominated Afghanistan in the first semi-final and has planned an optional practice session and a press conference. “South Africa will hold an optional training session at the Kensington Oval from 14:00 to 17:00 local time, with a pre-match media conference at 13:00 local time,” the ICC noted.
The final match between India and South Africa might face interruptions as weather forecasts predict rain and thunderstorms. AccuWeather has indicated a 99% cloud cover and over 60% chance of rain during the match. “Mostly cloudy and humid; breezy in the morning, then occasional rain and a thunderstorm in the afternoon,” stated the weather forecast.
Should the match be rained out on Saturday, a reserve day is scheduled for Sunday. However, forecasts suggest possible rain on Sunday as well. If the match cannot be completed over the two days, India and South Africa will share the trophy as joint winners.
