The notable difference between the leaked World Cup jersey and the Asia Cup jersey lies in the number of stars located above the BCCI emblem on the chest. The Asia Cup jersey features three stars, while the World Cup jersey only has two. But why is there this distinction?

The Asia Cup jersey, designed for India’s white-ball cricket team, features three stars, symbolizing India’s three World Cup victories. This includes two ODI World Cup wins in 1983 and 2011 and one T20 World Cup win in 2007. As a result, the ODI World Cup jersey sports only two stars, representing the two occasions when the Men in Blue clinched the World Cup trophy.

Regarding India’s World Cup journey, they are scheduled to play nine group-stage matches, facing Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, England, South Africa, and two Qualifier teams. The highly anticipated clash against Pakistan will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.

The only venue where the team won’t be playing is Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
